Purple Gorilla: A Minnesota Twins Fan for Life

Purple Gorilla: A Minnesota Twins Fan for Life

As a lifelong Minnesota Twins fan, baseball has been more than just a game—it’s been a way of life. Growing up in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, I was just 9 years old in 1987 when the Twins brought home their first World Series title. I can still picture the Metrodome erupting with every hit and every Kirby Puckett catch. By the time I was 11 in 1991, the magic happened again, and I was all in. Those championship runs weren’t just wins for a team; they were wins for a community. And for me, they became a core memory that ties my love for the sport to a deep sense of belonging.

Fast forward to today, and that passion hasn’t wavered. Whether it’s watching Royce Lewis crush home runs, reminiscing about Frank Viola’s iconic pitching, or remembering the dominance of Jeff Reardon and the grace of Rod Carew, the Twins have always embodied excellence and grit. They’ve taught me so much about perseverance and teamwork—values that I carry with me every day as a designer and as the founder of Purple Gorilla Design.

Daily Walkoff: Baseball Trivia Fun for Fans

One of my favorite ways to keep the baseball spark alive is by playing Daily Walkoff @ https://www.dailywalkoff.com/ This daily trivia game is like a home run derby for your brain. Every question feels like stepping up to the plate with the game on the line—challenging, fun, and totally addicting. If you’re a baseball fan, trust me, you’re going to want to check it out. Whether you’re flexing your baseball knowledge or learning new trivia nuggets, it’s the perfect way to stay connected to the sport we love.

Staying Purple and Baseball Values

At Purple Gorilla Design, we believe in staying purple: being kind, optimistic, and loving what you do every day. Baseball, like life, is a game of ups and downs, but it’s also about showing up, giving it your best, and cheering on the people around you. The Twins taught me that. They’ve been the perfect role model for resilience, heart, and community—all things we strive to bring into our work at Purple Gorilla.

We’re more than just a design company. We’re about spreading joy, creating connections, and celebrating the little things that make life extraordinary—kind of like baseball does. Every time I hear “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” it’s a reminder to keep showing up, no matter the score.
